Don’t you just hate it when you can’t enjoy a certain food because a bone or some other hinderance like seeds or stems come in the way? There are so many foods we often find difficult to eat, but what if we told you that it’s not the food to blame, it’s you. It’s the way you’re eating them that’s making it difficult for you. So, here are 13 foods that you may be eating wrong.
1. Strawberries:
Don’t cut the stem because it loosens about half the fruit, instead, take a hollow straw and push it through the bottom to the top. This will leave a larger morsel for you to enjoy.
2. Bananas:
There is a much easier way to peel a banana, and it’s not from the end. from the opposite side, just squeeze the little nub at the end gently and see your banana pop open from the other end.
3. Cupcakes:
Eating cupcakes shouldn’t mean that your entire body eats frosting with you too. Here’s a tip: twist off the bottom of the cake, invert the half with the frosting and place it on the other half, making it your own cupcake sandwich.
4. Oranges:
Oranges have always been a hassle to eat because of the outer skin, so try our hack which only requires three strokes of the knife. First, cut the top and bottom of the orange, then cut into the one side of the orange, until the knife reaches the fruit’s centre and spread it open! Easy!
5. Chinese Take Out:
Avoid dirtying any plates and use the box your food comes in as one! Just open it up.
6. Mango:
Slice the mango as you normally would, then slide each slice down a glass to save you from separating the peel from the pulp.
7. Boiled Eggs:
Add a teaspoon of baking soda in the boiled water to alkalise it, which helps in loosening the bond between the egg whites and the shell, making it easier to peel the eggs.
8. Tacos:
Wrap a piece of lettuce around your taco to avoid having the filling drip everywhere.
9. Tomatoes:
Flip a plate and gather all the tomatoes on that side. Place another plate on the top and press gently before running a knife through to cut it in half.
